Steffen Neumann
Management board and managing director

Born in 1963, Steffen Neumann studied machine construction from 1985 to 1990 at the TU Dresden, before working as research assistant for one year at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. From 1991 to 1994 he gained experience on the international level in the area of manufacturing, in the ILVA Group (Rome, Novi Ligure, Italy). Between 1994 and 2001 he was active in various jobs at Pleiger Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG: first as office manager, Italy, in Modena, then as assistant to the managing director, and finally as sales manager in the area of hydraulics, casting products and wastewater pumps. During 2001 and 2002 Steffen Neumann was employed as head sales manager and member of the business management at Isringhausen GmbH.

In December 2002 he came to the Photon Group, and took responsibility for Photon Meissener Technologies GmbH as managing director. In June 2004 he was appointed to the management board, and since then has born overall responsibility for all operative business of the Photon Group, as COO and managing director.

Michael Brandhorst

Michael Brandhorst, born in 1965, studied mechanical engineering in Hanover before he completed his training as a welding engineer at the SLV Hannover. From 1995 to 2008 he worked at the rail vehicle manufacturer Alstom LHB GmbH in Salzgitter in the field of manufacturing technology for various railway projects and gathered international experience in the ALSTOM Group. As division manager at Alstom LHB GmbH he was in charge of the sector: platform products and technology transfer for the production site in Salzgitter between 2003 and 2008. As managing director and plant manager, he led from 2008 to 2010, the rail vehicle factory Delitzsch GmbH in Saxony and was responsible for the maintenance and modernization of various Train Operating Companies (TOCs) and rolling stock manufacturers. From 2010 to 2016 Michael Brandhorst was sales manager for the railway section of the EDAG and was managing director of the EDAG Rail GmbH, a service provider for development projects for rail vehicle manufacturers, system manufacturers, DB AG and other TOCs.

In February 2016 he joined the Photon Group and took over the responsibility for the Photon Meissener Technologies GmbH in Meissen as CEO.
