With powder coating, pigment powder is uniformly applied to a suitably pre-treated, electrostatically charged material. During the subsequent firing, the pigments combine to form a uniform, attractive and very durable layer.
Powder coating offers a number of advantages. The powder-coating layer is very robust against mechanical stress (impacts, scratches, abrasion), corrosion and chemical agents. Fast processing, excellent material yield and short drying times make the process particularly efficient and economical. The powder coating is also very environmentally friendly as it does not contain any solvents. For the powder coating of components, assemblies and products made of aluminium, Photon uses the Oxsilan® surface pre-treatment process.
Photon is able to coat components up to 3250 mm in length made of normal steel, stainless steel, galvanized sheet and aluminium, and weighing up to 100 kg. With a six-zone continuous flow system for pre-treatment, a spray booth with automatic powder spray guns (Tribo technology) and a continuous powder-enamelling furnace, it is also possible to produce large quantities cost-effectively and quickly.
Depending on the material, area of application and customer requirements, we offer a wide range of coating thicknesses, gloss levels (e.g. gloss, semi-gloss, semi-matt) and textures (smooth, coarse).
Depending on the customer’s requirements or wishes, Photon uses the anodising process for aluminium components, assemblies and products. Anodisation (electrolytic oxidation of aluminium) produces an aluminium oxide layer on the surface by anodic oxidation. This artificial oxide protective layer is much more resistant to corrosion than a natural oxide layer due to its greater thickness. It can also be produced in different looks and colours and is therefore aesthetically pleasing.
